[sunting | sunting sumber]Fraser adalah anak sulung dari tiga bersaudara.[1] Ayahnya adalah keturunan Fiji, Portugis, dan Skotlandia.[2] Fraser memiliki dua saudara laki-laki yakni Matthew yang tinggal di Wellington, dan Shea yang tinggal di Dunedin.[3][4] Fraser dibesarkan di Naenae, Lower Hutt dan bersekolah di Dyer Street School, Naenae Intermediate School dan Naenae Colleg.[5]
Kehidupan pribadi
[sunting | sunting sumber]Setelah sukses dengan beberapa albumnya, Fraser pindah ke Sydney pada tahun 2004. Pada 17 Maret 2008, ia menikah dengan Scott Ligertwood, di Sydney.[6] Dia terus tampil di bawah nama gadisnya "Brooke Fraser" untuk karir solonya.[7]

Brooke Gabrielle Ligertwood (née Fraser; born 15 December 1983) better known by her maiden name Brooke Fraser, is a New Zealand singer and songwriter best known for her hit single "Something in the Water", released in 2010. Fraser released two studio albums What to Do with Daylight (2003) and Albertine (2006) through Columbia Records before signing a recording contract with Wood + Bone. Her third studio album, Flags, was released in 2010 and is her most successful album to date. Her most recent album, Brutal Romantic, was released in November 2014 through Vagrant Records.

After signing with Sony BMG in 2002, she gained recognition for her debut album, What to Do with Daylight (2003) and followed with Albertine (2006) and Flags (2010). All three debuted at number one on the RMNZ chart and gained her the number one single "Something in the Water". She later released Brutal Romantic (2014), various compilation albums, the live album Seven (2022) and Eight (2023). The latter two were released by Capitol CMG under her married name, Brooke Ligertwood.
