Richard "Dick" Manning is an American environmental author and journalist who writes about music, neuroscience, and agriculture.
Career
Manning is the author of 11 books[1] and has worked as a journalist, reporter and editor for more than 40 years,[2] including four years at the Missoulian.[3] In 1995 he was the recipient of a John S. Knight Fellowship from Stanford University.[4] He is a three-time winner of the Seattle TimesC.B. Blethen Award for Investigative Journalism, and also won the Audubon Society Journalism Award and the inaugural Richard J. Margolis Award in 1992.[5]
He writes frequently about the environment, neuroscience and music. He was a senior research associate at the National Native Children's Trauma Center based

About Richard Manning
Biography
Worked in Commercial Art Studios after leaving school in 1964. Trained as Retoucher/Airbrush Illustrator at a studio in Holborn, London EC1. Worked in a number of Studios after 5 year apprenticeship then Freelance in 1973. Retouching and Illustration for National Press Advertising and Record Sleeve Artwork until 2001. From '73 freelanced for Hipgnosis the Record Sleeve designers. Pink Floyd, Led Zepelin, Black Sabbath, Genesis, Wings and many more were some of the bands I was privileged to work on. I stopped working in London in 2001 and continued to work at home having started working on the Apple Mac in 1996.
I produced Limited Edition Prints from my Photography and had an exhibition stand at the NEC for 3 years, selling to the US, Germany, Switzerland and a number of galleries in the UK. Having painted in Watercolour for many years and 17 local one man exhibitions, I turned my attention to oils in 2005.

Ryan Phelim Manning (born 14 June 1996) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a left-back or midfielder for Premier League club Southampton and the Republic of Ireland national team.
Club career
Mervue United
Manning started his career playing for Mervue United in the League of Ireland First Division, the second tier of Irish football.[2] He spent one season there in which Mervue reached the League of Ireland promotion/relegation playoffs but lost out to Longford Town on penalties in the semi-final after a scoreline of 3–3 on aggregate.[3]
Galway United
After a single season at Mervue he moved to fellow First Division side Galway United for the 2014 season.[4] Manning and Galway had a brilliant season as they went on to win promotion to the Premier Division via the Promotion/relegation playoffs, with Manning scoring in both legs of the final as United brushed aside Premier Division outfit UCD in a 5–1 aggregate win.[5]
