    Virginia J. (Jula) Pompeani

Virginia J. (Jula) Pompeani, 74, of Hopewell Township, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 20, 2008, in Forbes Hospice, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Despite her lengthy illness, Virginia maintained a remarkably positive attitude that inspired her family and friends. Virginia's devoted husband, Pat, was at her side at the time of her death, holding her hand, as he had done so faithfully, throughout her ten year ordeal.

Born Aug. 7, 1933, in Ambridge, she was a daughter of the late Nestor and Helen (Rusinko) Jula. Mrs. Pompeani was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church; Nifty Fifty Card Club; a former member of the Grandmothers Bowling League; a former member of the Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church Choir; R.B.O. Russian Lodge in Ambridge; Aliquippa BPO Elks Ladies Auxiliary, and Beaver Lakes Country Club. She enjoyed playing bingo and card games with her friends, but most of all, Virginia enjoyed spending time with her loving family and attending her grandchildren's activities.

Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Pat Pomp
