Shropshire Star

A man at the centre of a murder investigation has been named by police.

George Loveridge, 25, was found by officers in cardiac arrest at an address on Charlton Street, Wellington, on Saturday and died at the scene.

His family said he "made an impact on everybody's lives".

Dean Richards, 29, of Deer Park Road, Wellington, Telford, has been charged with his murder and appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Thursday.

Mr Loveridge's family said he "was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend" and would be "sadly missed".

They added: "There will only ever be one Longy."

Having been surrounded with classic cars growing up, I suppose it was only natural for me to get into motoring journalism. Attending various classic car shows every year, I always had a camera on hand to take photos for my own amusement. However, aged 15, I was able to supply my photographs for a Practical Classics magazine story on the restoration of an Austin 16, which was to take on Seven Capital Cities in Seven Days. It was shortly after the stories were published that I thought, ‘I’d like to do this more often!’.

I joined the Guild of Motoring Writers in 2018, and since then have continued to take photographs at events across the country and supply them to whomever was interested enough! In 2021 I launched my own site, Driving Around, which features regular new car reviews, as well as stories of classic car adventures. The site has an accompanying Facebook page under the same name, with features such as ‘Motorsport Monday’ and highlights of car events.

I enjoy taking delivery of press cars, where available, to supply reviews to Wheels Alive, Travel News Update, and Drivin
