William Dee Calhoun (August 3, 1934 – December 7, 1989)[1][3] was an American professional wrestler, who used the professional name "Haystack" or "Haystacks" Calhoun.

Early life

Born on August 3, 1934, William Dee Calhoun grew up on a farm in McKinney, Texas; a rural suburb located in Collin County about 30 miles (48 kilometers) north of Dallas. By age 14, he already weighed 300 pounds (140 kilograms), as he routinely ate a dozen eggs for breakfast. By the time he was in his early 20s, Calhoun weighed over 600 pounds (270 kg). Legend has it that Calhoun was discovered by a traveling wrestling promoter who saw him pick up and move cows across a field. Calhoun first broke into wrestling in 1955 and he began competing for local promoter Orville Brown.[4]

John C. Jack” Calhoun, 78 of Kissimmee passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017 at his residence. Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan the son of the late John and Mariam Calhoun Jack moved to Osceola County in 1942. Jack was a musician starring on the Grand Ole Opry with his twin brother Jerry. He began building entertainer tour buses out of his love for country music. Jack had a passion for golf, his family friends and most of all his dogs. He was one of the most generous individuals you could ever meet and he put a smile on everyone’s face when he walked in the room. Now God gets to hear him play and sing after he’s finished hitting on all the angels.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jackie Calhoun, brother Jay Calhoun. Survivors include daughter, Robin (Lenny) Stewart, Kissimmee, son, Caleb (Jolene) Calhoun, Kissimmee, mother of the children Karen Calhoun, Kissimmee, brothers Jerry Calhoun, Leesburg, Bud Calhoun, Virginia, Grandchildren, Brittney Calhoun, Cheyenne Sharkey and Brooks Calhoun all of Kissimmee.
