Ryu Tendo​ (天堂 竜,Tendō Ryū) is Red Hawk (レッドホーク,Reddo Hōku), leader of the Jetmen. He is the husband of White Swan.

Ryu was originally a Sky Forcer code-named "W6" alongside his girlfriend Rie Aoi. The two loved each other greatly and were effective together in combat. This led Commander Aya Odagiri to select them for her Jetman project. On the day they were scheduled to receive their Birdonic Waves, Vyram attacked their military base just as soon as Ryu got his power. Rie was sucked out of the base into space and presumed dead. The remaining Birdonic Waves travelled to Earth and struck four random civilians. Ryu and his commander Aya escaped the exploding base and set out to find the four to form the Jetman. Red Hawk (Robert Moore, Ph.D.) is the author of five collections of poetry: Journey of the Medicine Man (August House, 1983; finalist, Walt Whitman Award); The Sioux Dog Dance (Cleveland State University, 1991; runner-up, Patterson Poetry Prize); The Way of Power (Hohm Press, 1996); The Art of Dying (Hohm Press, 1999); Wreckage With A Beating Heart (Hohm Press, 2005) and Raven’s Paradise (Bright Hill Press, 2010; Bright Hill Press National Poetry Book 2009 winner).

His newest work, Self-Observation: The Awakening of Conscience (Hohm Press, 2009), is a prose contemplation of the practice of self-study and is also translated and published in Romanian by Good Company. He was the Hodder Fellow in the Humanities at Princeton University and is now professor of English at the University of Arkansas in Monticello.

Red Hawk, Oglala Lakota Biography

Red Hawk.  Oglala Lakota.  Born 1854.  First war-party in 1865 under Crazy Horse, against troops.  Led an unsuccessful war-party at 22 years old against Shoshone.  First coup when twelve horse-raiding Blackfeet were discovered in a creek bottom and annihilated.  Led another party against Shoshone, but failed to find them; encountered and surrounded a white-horse troop.  From a hill overlooking the first Red Hawk saw soldiers dismount and charge.  The Lakota fled, leaving him alone.  A soldier came close and fired, but missed.  Red Hawk did likewise, a thump and “O-h-h-h!”.  A Cheyenne boy on horseback rushed in and struck the soldier, counting coup.  Engaged in twenty battles, many with troops, among them the Custer fight of 1876; others with Pawnee, Crow, Shoshone, Cheyenne and even with Sioux scouts.
