In the early 1990s, the young Percy Robert Miller began to forge his own path toward success. Born and raised in the Calliope Projects in New Orleans, Miller, who would later be known by his stage name Miller, had his heart set on basketball, going as far as attending the University of Houston on an athletic scholarship. After dropping out of college and transferring to Merritt University in Oakland, he graduated in business. With the death of his grandfather, Miller inherited 10,000 dollars as part of a malpractice settlement. He then opened a record store called No Limit Records, which later became the name of his record label. In the same year, his brother was killed in New Orleans and he was determined to become a successful entrepreneur to change his life and save his family. A year later, Miller would release his debut album, “Get Away Clean,” which would make No Limit Records go on to become one of the biggest music labels of the 90s.

Percy Robert Miller (born April 29, 1970),[1] better known by his stage name Master P, is an American rapper, record producer, record executive, dancer, actor and entrepreneur. He founded the record labelNo Limit Records in 1991, which was relaunched into the spin-off labels New No Limit Records and No Limit Forever Records. Miller gained fame in the mid-1990s as a member of the label's hip hop group TRU, as well as his fifth solo album, Ice Cream Man (1996), and its namesake lead single. His 1997 single, "Make 'Em Say Uhh!" received platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
In total, Miller has released 15 studio albums.

Master P Biography
Master Percy Miller in the heart of uptown New Orleans, Louisiana, grew up in the third ward Calliope projects. After his mother and father separated, his mother moved to Richmond, California. Master P decided to stay in New Orleans and travel frequently to California to spend time with his mom. His mother agreed it was important for him to stay in school in New Orleans and grow up with his father and his family. Remaining in New Orleans, P and his brothers were raised by their paternal grandmother. When P's grandfather came into an inheritance, P was given ten thousand dollars. Striving to be an entrepreneur, Master P took this money and opened an independent record store in Richmond, California called No Limit Records. After gaining first hand knowledge of the music industry as a retailer, P felt he had the business savvy to embark on his dream to become an entertainer as well as owning his own record company.
